Dialer comparison
Trellus vs. ConnectAndSell: Dial From Your CRM or Use Agent-Assisted Connections
Trellus is software your reps run inside the CRM or sales engagement platform they already use. ConnectAndSell is a Human + AI connection service: its AI and human agents dial and work through phone systems and gatekeepers, then hand the rep a live conversation. The right choice depends on who you are calling, where the list lives and how much of the pre-conversation work you want a vendor to do.
Trellus publishes this comparison and sells a competing product. ConnectAndSell details come from its own product, pricing, platform, security and sign-in pages, checked October 30, 2026; we did not test a ConnectAndSell account. Trellus details come from trellus.ai/llms.txt and the Trellus pricing page. This is a workflow comparison, not a performance benchmark.
The short answer
Trellus is a Chrome extension that lets reps power dial one contact at a time or parallel dial up to five numbers at once from the CRM, sales engagement platform or Google Sheet they already work in, at a published $99.99 or $149.99 per seat per month with no seat minimum. ConnectAndSell is a seat-based, quote-priced service in which AI and human agents dial, navigate phone systems and gatekeepers, and connect the rep to either the first live voice (Express Connect) or the named person on the list (Precision Connect). Choose Trellus to speed up calling from your own records; consider ConnectAndSell when the people you need sit behind switchboards and assistants and you want the vendor to handle that navigation.
Trellus vs. ConnectAndSell at a glance
| Decision | Trellus | ConnectAndSell |
|---|---|---|
| How a conversation starts | The rep’s dialer places the calls. Power dialing works one contact at a time; parallel dialing calls several numbers at once and connects the rep with whoever answers. | ConnectAndSell dials and navigates. Express Connect connects the rep to the first live voice; Precision Connect uses human agents to get past gatekeepers and transfers the call once the named target is reached. |
| Where reps work | A Chrome extension beside a supported CRM, sales engagement platform or Google Sheet, with dialing integrations for 20 platforms. Needs Chrome on a Mac or Windows computer and a headset or microphone. | ConnectAndSell’s own platform. Reps sign in with a username, SSO or a HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft or Gong login; the platform page shows a session page and the screen reps see at the time of conversation. |
| Modes and line count | Power dialing (one line) on every plan; parallel dialing of up to five lines on Power + Parallel and Business. | Two connection modes: first live voice or named target. No line count is published; its sales reps page cites 100+ dials per hour. |
| CRM and sales engagement | Dialing integrations include HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, Gong Engage, Close, GoHighLevel, Attio, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Clay and Google Sheets. Microsoft Dynamics is not on the list. | The platform page lists Salesforce, HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics (CRM), Outreach and Salesloft (orchestration), and Gong and Chorus (conversation intelligence). |
| Phone numbers and caller ID | 5 (Power) or 8 (Power + Parallel) additional numbers with spam remediation, or bring your own. Calls from the number closest to the prospect by default; a caller ID name can be registered after spam remediation, and whether it shows depends on the prospect’s carrier. | Caller ID is not described on the pages we checked. Plans list no phone number restrictions and unlimited phone-number enrichment; CASSi supplies numbers from ConnectAndSell’s own data source and orders outreach by likelihood to engage. |
| Coaching and training | Real-time AI coaching (live transcript and suggested responses) and team analytics on Business; AI roleplay in 17 languages, unlimited on Power + Parallel; a virtual Salesfloor for listening, whispering and joining calls, discussed in a demo. | Live coaching, with managers listening and coaching in real time; CASSi scores calls against a skill rubric and summarizes notes; Flight School instructor-led training; a dedicated customer success manager on Express and Precision plans. |
| Pricing model | Published per seat per month: Power $99.99, Power + Parallel $149.99, Business custom. No seat minimum and no free trial. | Not published; quote-based. The pricing page lists seat-based plans through Contact Sales, no consumption-based fees and a free one-day Test Drive. |
| Best fit | Teams that want reps dialing their own CRM lists, tasks and sheets, with outcomes saved to the same record, starting from one seat. | Teams calling office and switchboard numbers who want the vendor to handle navigation, phone data and hands-on success support, and who can buy through sales. |
Who handles the call before the conversation
The biggest difference is who does the work between the dial and the first useful sentence. ConnectAndSell describes its model as Human + AI. On its Express Connect page, AI handles dialing, phone trees and routing, and the rep takes over at the first human voice, which the page says may be a gatekeeper, a receptionist or the decision-maker. Precision Connect adds human agents who broker the exchange with executive assistants and gatekeepers, then transfer the call when the named person on your list is reached. ConnectAndSell’s security and compliance page presents those human agents as part of its approach to TCPA compliance.
Trellus is software the rep runs. It places calls from the team’s Trellus numbers, connects the rep with whoever answers in parallel mode, and handles two common non-conversations: on eligible parallel calls it waits for the voicemail tone and plays a pre-recorded message, and reps can record a separate introduction for phone call screeners. Trellus does not list a human navigation service, so when a call reaches a switchboard or an assistant, the rep has that conversation. See the Trellus dialer for the calling flow.
Look at your list before either demo. If most numbers are direct dials and mobiles already in your CRM, the question is how quickly reps can work them and log the result. If most are main office lines where the decision-maker sits behind an IVR or an assistant, ConnectAndSell’s navigation is the feature you are evaluating, and Precision Connect is the mode to test.
Where the rep works and what gets saved
Trellus opens beside the list, task or sheet the rep already uses and logs the result back to that record. After a call, AI fills in the result and a summary; the rep can add notes, schedule a follow-up, complete the call task and attach the recording link. By default, no-answers, voicemails and wrong numbers are logged automatically. The exact fields depend on the platform; see the HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach and Salesloft pages.
ConnectAndSell reps work in ConnectAndSell’s platform, and its integrations carry the activity back. Its platform page describes CRM updates for Salesforce leads, contacts and opportunities; activity sync to HubSpot; real-time sync of sales data to Microsoft Dynamics; call logs, task management and follow-up scheduling with Outreach; and cadence sync with Salesloft. CASSi transcribes calls and adds notes to the CRM, and pipeline attribution reporting ties calls to pipeline. ConnectAndSell does not publish field-level mappings, so ask to see the exact record a test call leaves behind.
Use one concrete case for both: a rep working a due call task reaches the prospect, who asks for a Tuesday callback. Afterward you need the outcome, notes and a new callback task on the right record. A fast connection that leaves that follow-up undone is an incomplete workflow.
Phone data, numbers and calling rules
ConnectAndSell supplies phone data along with connections. Its CASSi agent finds numbers from ConnectAndSell’s own data source combined with phone-number intent data and orders lists by likelihood to engage; both Express and Precision plans list unlimited phone-number enrichment. Its comparison with AI dialers says it reaches mobile, landline and office numbers. It states GDPR and SOC 2 compliance, offers a data processing agreement and, per its international page, has a European headquarters in London.
Trellus calls the numbers in your records and helps you manage the lines you call from. Each plan includes additional numbers you search by area code, state or city, or you can bring your own. By default Trellus calls from your number closest to the prospect; admins complete STIR/SHAKEN business verification and Free Caller Registry spam remediation, and each number shows a Clean, Warning, Flagged or Untested status. Trellus holds back contacts marked Do Not Call or Do Not Contact, dials between 8 AM and 6 PM in each prospect’s local time by default, and has a SOC 2 Type II report available on request.
Vendor compliance descriptions are not legal advice. Have counsel review the calling rules that apply to your lists, regions and consent records, whichever product you choose.
Where each one fits
Choose Trellus when reps already work lists, tasks or sequences in a supported CRM, sales engagement platform or Google Sheet and should dial there; when you want power dialing for callbacks and parallel dialing for prepared lists, with the outcome saved to the source record; and when you want published pricing and the option to start with one seat. Real-time coaching and team analytics are on the custom Business plan.
Choose ConnectAndSell when your targets sit behind main lines, IVRs and executive assistants and you want agents to reach a named person for you; when you want the vendor to supply phone numbers through enrichment and to provide onboarding, call-script help and instructor-led training through a dedicated customer success team; or when you run Microsoft Dynamics, which ConnectAndSell lists and Trellus does not. Expect a sales-led, quote-based purchase.
Keep your current setup when reps make a few researched calls a day, reach the right people and already save outcomes reliably. Neither product fixes an unclear target list or a missing follow-up process.
Compare the cost of the same scope
Trellus pricing is published: Power is $99.99 and Power + Parallel is $149.99 per seat per month, and Business is custom. At list price, five reps on Power + Parallel cost $749.95 a month and ten cost $1,499.90, before Business features or the Salesfloor, which you ask about in a demo. Plans include calling usage with standard, high or custom dialing limits, explained in the Trellus Terms.
ConnectAndSell pricing is not published; it is quote-based. Its pricing page lists Express Connect, Precision Connect and Flight School as seat-based with Contact Sales, states that there are no consumption-based fees, and includes phone-number enrichment, the CASSi assistant and a dedicated customer success manager in Express and Precision. Seat minimums and contract terms are not stated on the page.
The two seats buy different things. A Trellus seat is calling software and numbers for a rep who works their own list; a ConnectAndSell seat, per its pricing page, includes human-assisted connection, phone-number enrichment and customer success. Compare the cost per qualified conversation and per meeting on the same list, not the headline seat price alone.
Run this test before you commit
ConnectAndSell offers a free one-day Test Drive with live calling. Trellus has no free trial; its interactive demo uses sample data and places no real calls, and a single seat can be bought online. Either way, keep the test identical:
- Use the same list. Take one prepared list that mixes direct dials, mobiles and main office numbers, plus one due callback task. Note which numbers came from your CRM and which a vendor added.
- Count who the rep actually reaches. Separate named prospects, gatekeepers or receptionists, wrong people and voicemails. Run ConnectAndSell’s Express Connect and Precision Connect separately, and Trellus power and parallel modes separately.
- Watch the handoff. Check what the rep sees when the conversation starts, how much prospect context arrives with it, and what the prospect hears before the rep speaks. Ask how call audio reaches the rep.
- Check the saved record. Log an outcome, notes and the Tuesday callback, then reopen the contact and task in your CRM or sales engagement platform to confirm what was written.
- Check numbers and rules. Confirm which caller ID the prospect sees, how Do Not Call records and calling hours are handled, and what your counsel requires.
- Reconcile the cost. Divide the quoted or published seat cost by qualified conversations and meetings with intended prospects, counted separately from dials and connects.
Frequently asked questions
Does ConnectAndSell use human agents?
Yes, by its own description. Precision Connect uses human agents to work through gatekeepers and executive assistants and transfers the call to the rep once the named target is reached. Its Express Connect page says AI handles dialing, phone trees and routing, and the rep takes the first human voice. Trellus is a software dialer the rep runs in the CRM and does not list a human navigation service.
Does ConnectAndSell publish its pricing?
No. Its pricing page lists seat-based plans through Contact Sales, no consumption-based fees and a free one-day Test Drive, but no prices. Trellus publishes Power at $99.99 and Power + Parallel at $149.99 per seat per month, with Business at custom pricing.
How many lines can each dial at once?
Trellus Power calls one number at a time, and Power + Parallel calls up to five at once. ConnectAndSell does not publish a line count; its sales reps page cites 100+ dials per hour, with the platform rather than the rep doing the dialing.
Which CRMs and sales engagement platforms do they support?
ConnectAndSell’s platform page lists Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Outreach, Salesloft, Gong and Chorus. Trellus works with 28 platforms, with dialing in HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, Gong Engage, Close, GoHighLevel, Attio, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Google Sheets and others; Microsoft Dynamics is not among them.
Can I try either before buying?
ConnectAndSell offers a free one-day Test Drive that its pricing page says needs no CRM integration. Trellus has no free trial or free plan; its interactive demo shows the workflow with sample data, and Power or Power + Parallel can be bought online one seat at a time.
Which one gets more conversations?
This comparison does not establish a winner. ConnectAndSell’s sales operations page claims 10x more meaningful conversations per rep per day; that is a vendor claim we did not test. Run both on comparable lists with the same reps and count conversations with intended prospects and meetings booked.
