Dialer comparison

Trellus vs. Aircall: Parallel Dialing Inside Your CRM or a Cloud Phone System for Sales and Support

Trellus and Aircall both let sales reps call from a computer and log calls to the CRM, and they can also be used together. They are different purchases. Aircall is a cloud phone system for sales and support teams, with business numbers, inbound routing, texting, desktop and mobile apps and AI voice agents, and its Power Dialer calls one number at a time from a list loaded into Aircall. Trellus adds power and parallel dialing, and live AI coaching, to the CRM, sales engagement platform or spreadsheet a team already works in. This guide compares the documented workflows so a team can test the one that fits.

Published by Trellus, which has a commercial interest in this comparison. Aircall's pricing page, product and integration pages and help center were checked November 2, 2026. Aircall capabilities below come from Aircall's own website and help center; we did not test an Aircall account. Aircall prices are its published US list prices and can change, so confirm them on Aircall's pricing page. Aircall's help center labels Outbound Campaigns dialed by human agents as beta. This is a workflow comparison, not a performance benchmark.

The short answer

Aircall is a cloud phone system for sales and support teams: every plan includes business calling, IVR and call routing, texting and desktop and mobile apps, and its Professional plan, from $50 per license per month billed annually with a three-license minimum, adds a Power Dialer that calls one number at a time from a list of up to 1,000 numbers loaded into Aircall. Trellus is a Chrome extension that power dials, or parallel dials up to five numbers at once, from the list a rep already has open in a supported CRM, sales engagement platform or Google Sheet, for a published $99.99 or $149.99 per seat per month with no seat minimum, and adds real-time AI coaching on its Business plan. Choose Aircall when you want one system for inbound, outbound and texting at a lower per-seat list price; choose Trellus when reps should dial from the views they already work in or need more than one line.

The two can also run side by side: Trellus Business adds live AI coaching to calls reps place in Aircall Phone, while Aircall still places and controls the call. If your reps make a small number of researched calls and your current calling already logs outcomes where managers look, you may not need to change anything.

Best fitTeams that dial from a sales engagement platform, CRM or sheet they already use, want up to five lines, want to buy one seat at a time, or want live AI coaching.Teams of three or more that want one phone system for sales and support, with inbound routing, texting, mobile apps and AI voice agents, and for whom one-line power dialing is enough.

Where the list lives: your CRM view or an Aircall dialing list

Aircall reps work in Aircall Workspace, a desktop app for Mac or Windows or a web app in Chrome; Aircall's Workspace overview says users of its older Phone app see a banner prompting them to migrate. The Power Dialer, on the Professional plan, runs in the Workspace desktop and web apps but not on mobile. It dials My dialing list, which you fill by importing a CSV file, by pasting numbers, or with the Aircall Dialer browser extension, which detects phone numbers on a webpage and adds the ones you pick. A list holds up to 1,000 numbers in E.164 format, a CSV import reads only column A, and duplicates are rejected. For a Google Sheet, Aircall recommends exporting a CSV or publishing the sheet to the web so the extension can read it. During a session the outbound line is fixed and the agent's status is Busy, so inbound calls do not ring, even while the session is paused.

For team lists, Aircall's Outbound Campaigns let an admin or supervisor run one shared queue that several agents dial without two of them calling the same contact at once. Campaigns dialed by human agents are in beta on Professional at no extra cost. Contacts come from a CSV file, a HubSpot static list or the Aircall API; Salesforce import is not available. The admin sets attempts, retry interval and caller ID, choosing the rep's default number, a number pool or Local Presence (product page), and outcomes are tracked per contact across attempts. Aircall's help center says each CSV import can hold 10,000 rows with no limit on total contacts, while the product page says up to 5,000 contacts per campaign. Campaigns run in Workspace desktop and web only, not the mobile app or CTI integrations, and agents on a campaign are unavailable for inbound calls.

Outside those lists, Aircall places single calls from other tools. Its integrations directory lists more than 250 apps. The Salesforce integration, which needs Aircall Professional and Salesforce Enterprise or Unlimited, or Salesforce Professional with API access (requirements), embeds the Aircall CTI in Salesforce, including one-click calls from a Sales Engagement work queue. The Outreach and Salesloft integrations add click-to-call inside those platforms and log calls back, and the Salesloft one can complete cadence steps from Aircall tags. The Attio integration adds click-to-dial, and the Pipedrive page describes power dialing after loading a list from Pipedrive. We did not find Apollo, Close, Clay or Amplemarket in Aircall's directory.

Trellus is a Chrome extension each rep installs. It opens beside the contact list or calling view your integration supports, such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo or Google Sheets, so reps call from the lists they already keep and there is no separate calling list to maintain. AI fills in the call result and a summary; reps can add notes, schedule a follow-up, complete the call task and attach the recording link, with the transcript as an option. By default, no-answers, voicemails and wrong numbers are logged automatically. Every plan includes power dialing on all supported platforms, and admins can set and lock team defaults for each platform. See the Trellus dialer for the calling flow.

What lands in the CRM depends on the platform for both. Aircall's HubSpot integration logs each call as a Call engagement on the contact whose email or phone number matches, or else on a company with that number, with the duration, a recording link, notes and tags, plus a summary, key topics and action items when the AI add-on is on. If nothing matches and your settings allow it, it creates a contact with the last name "Aircall new contact." It also notes that outbound calls that reach voicemail are counted as connected in HubSpot. In Salesforce, admins choose for each call type whether calls log as Completed, In progress or not at all. Calls go to the matching Contact, Lead, Account or Person Account, in that order, and optionally to an open Case or Opportunity on a Contact; unknown numbers can create a Contact, Lead or Account.

One line at a time or up to five

Aircall's Power Dialer calls numbers in the order they appear and dials the next one when the wrap-up time ends; agents can skip, pause, add tags and notes, and send an unanswered contact to the bottom of the list. Aircall's own Power Dialer page describes power dialers as calling one number at a time. Agent campaigns work the same way for each rep: the system assigns the next available contact and dials it, applies an outcome automatically to unanswered calls, and dials the next contact after a connected call's outcome is saved. Aircall also lists "parallel calls" on every plan, but its help center describes parallel calling as putting a live call on hold to place a second call, with at most two calls at once. We did not find a mode in Aircall's documentation that dials several prospects at once for one rep.

Aircall's Voicemail Drop, on Professional, lets an agent submit one of up to 10 saved messages, each up to three minutes, with one click after hearing the beep, on standard outbound calls and Power Dialer sessions. Its campaigns guide says calling hours, consent and Do Not Call list management remain the customer's responsibility, and that keeping do-not-call contacts out of future campaign lists is a manual step.

Trellus Power calls one number at a time. Power + Parallel calls up to five numbers at once and connects the rep with whoever answers. The dialer includes Hot Numbers pickup ordering. On eligible parallel calls, Trellus waits for the voicemail tone to play a recorded message, and reps can record a separate introduction for phone call screeners. By default Trellus dials between 8 AM and 6 PM in each prospect's local time and holds back numbers marked Do Not Call, or contacts marked Do Not Contact in the CRM, and teams can keep their own Do Not Call list.

More lines suit large, prepared lists where most calls go unanswered; a promised callback or a high-value account usually goes better one number at a time. Neither line count guarantees a conversation, so compare connected conversations with the intended person, not dials.

A phone system or a dialing layer: numbers, inbound, texting and AI

Phone numbers and caller ID

Aircall's plans include one local or toll-free number, and each additional number is $6 a month. On Essentials and Professional, inbound calls are unlimited (toll-free excluded) and outbound calls within the US and Canada are unlimited under Aircall's Terms of Use; international rates are quoted, and Enterprise lists unlimited global calls. Local Presence, on Professional and above and on by default, picks the outbound number from those assigned to the agent: same area code first, then same state or region, then same country, then the agent's default number. It works in Workspace and in the Salesforce and Zendesk CTIs, and covers more area codes only as you add local numbers. Branded caller ID, which shows your business name and logo, is $0.08 per call, and the Number Reputation Dashboard, which shows whether carriers label your numbers Healthy, At Risk or Spam, is $0.03 per check.

Trellus includes 5 additional numbers on Power and 8 on Power + Parallel. You can search by area code, state or city, or bring your own number, which counts toward the plan's limit. By default Trellus calls from your geographically closest number, or it can rotate through your numbers or always use one. An admin completes spam remediation, first STIR/SHAKEN business verification and then the Free Caller Registry, and can then register a caller ID name; whether it shows depends on the prospect's carrier. Each number shows Clean, Warning, Flagged or Untested from roughly weekly checks, with its dials and connect rate for the last 14 days. Trellus calls the countries your account is set up for, with caller IDs from a specific country.

Inbound calls, texting and devices

This is where Aircall does more. Every plan lists IVR, call queuing, ring groups, time- and date-based routing, a shared call inbox, forward-to-mobile and a softphone for desktop, Android and iOS. Professional adds smart routing based on live CRM or help desk data and queue callback, which calls a waiting caller back when an agent is free. Every plan also lists SMS and MMS, with SMS in 14 countries and MMS for US, Canadian and Australian numbers, and WhatsApp is a $10 per seat add-on. Texting US recipients requires A2P 10DLC registration, which Aircall files on your behalf; carrier vetting takes 5 to 30 business days, with a one-time brand fee of $4.50 or $46, $15 per vetting attempt and $1.50 to $10 a month per campaign. Aircall lists Windows 10 or 11 or macOS 13 and at least 8 GB of RAM as computer requirements and Chrome as the supported browser, and its desktop app does not run on Linux or Chromebooks (Workspace requirements).

Trellus is built around calling from the CRM rather than as a full phone system. Callbacks ring in the Chrome tab that holds the Trellus line, with the contact's details and recent call history, or at a forwarding number you set, and missed calls from the last 7 days stay in a list. With routing turned on, depending on plan, each number can ring a team or subteam, one rep or an outside number, with an optional greeting. Trellus plans do not list texting, IVR menus, call queues or a mobile app; it runs in Chrome on a Mac or Windows computer.

Coaching during and after calls

From the Live Monitoring Pro dashboard on Aircall's Professional plan, admins and supervisors can listen to a live call and whisper to the rep without the customer hearing, one coach per call; the pricing page also lists barge. AI Assist is included on Professional for the users an admin assigns: transcripts, summaries, key topics, sentiment, action items and follow-up email drafts for calls longer than one minute, logged to HubSpot, Salesforce or Zendesk. The AI Assist Pro add-on, $49 per user per month billed annually, adds live transcription, live prompts and sales playbooks during calls, plus automatic scoring and CRM updates. Admins write each live prompt and its trigger keywords, and prompts usually appear 1 to 7 seconds after a keyword is detected. Playbooks require enrollment in Aircall's AI Beta Program. Aircall lists seven verified languages for these features, English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Portuguese and Italian, and 17 more on a best-effort basis.

Trellus's Business plan adds real-time AI coaching: a live transcript and suggested responses while the rep is still on the call, in English, Spanish, French, German or Dutch, with custom suggestions and objection handlers. On the Salesfloor, which teams can add by asking in a demo, a manager can listen, request a whisper that only the rep hears once accepted, or join the call with a dialing seat. Power + Parallel includes unlimited AI practice calls in 17 languages and variants, graded after each session. Team analytics and conversation intelligence are on Business.

AI voice agents

Both companies offer AI voice agents. Aircall's AI Voice Agents answer and place calls in 38 languages and can take actions in connected systems such as a CRM or calendar during or after a call; outbound agents use trigger-based calling and voicemail detection. Essentials and Professional include 50 minutes a month; more costs $0.29 a minute pay-as-you-go or comes in bundles from $250 for 1,000 minutes, and the pricing page lists AI Voice Agents on their own from a $100 monthly minimum, billed annually. A separate AI Messaging Agents add-on answers SMS and WhatsApp messages for $0.15 to $0.35 per conversation.

Trellus voice agents answer inbound calls on a phone number or through a voice widget on your website, and place outbound calls, handling voicemail and call screeners before the live greeting. Each follows a script your team writes, with steps to say a line, collect details such as a name, email, phone number or date, and transfer the call to a phone number or another voice agent. After each call, the fields you define are sent by webhook, SFTP, SMS or Slack. They speak English, Spanish, French, German and Dutch, plus mixed English and Spanish, and are set up with the Trellus team; the voice agents page does not list a price.

Using both: Trellus coaching on Aircall calls

Trellus's Aircall integration adds live coaching, on Trellus Business plans, to calls reps place in Aircall Phone at phone.aircall.io in Google Chrome. Reps keep their Aircall numbers, contacts and call controls; Trellus recognizes the live call, keeps the participant name or number Aircall shows, and gives the rep guidance during the conversation. Trellus does not dial for Aircall or replace its Power Dialer, and the call history and after-call workflow stay in Aircall. Trellus's Power and Power + Parallel plans do not include live coaching. Because Aircall's help center prompts Phone app users to move to Aircall Workspace, confirm in a Trellus demo that coaching works in the Aircall app your reps use.

Where each fits

Choose Trellus when

  • Reps work in a sales engagement platform, CRM or sheet such as Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, Close, Attio or Google Sheets, and you want them to dial the view they already have open instead of building a separate list.
  • You want more than one line: up to five on a published plan.
  • You want to buy one seat at a time online, with no seat minimum.
  • You already have Aircall or another phone system for inbound calls and texting, and want parallel dialing or live AI coaching added rather than the phone system replaced.

Choose Aircall when

  • You want one phone system for sales and support: business numbers, IVR, queues and ring groups, texting, WhatsApp and a shared inbox.
  • Reps need to make and take calls on iOS or Android, or forward calls to a mobile phone.
  • Your team has three or more users and one-line power dialing is enough: at list price, Aircall Professional costs less per license than Trellus Power, and it includes the phone system.
  • You want admin-run campaigns that share one list across a team with automatic retries, AI voice agents with published per-minute pricing, or a 7-day free trial before you buy.

Keep what you have when

Your current calling already reaches people and logs outcomes where managers look. A new dialer will not fix a weak list, an unclear disposition set or an unowned callback process.

Both publish per-seat prices. Aircall's pricing page shows US list prices billed annually or monthly, with 25% off for annual billing, and requires at least three licenses on either cycle. The table uses only published numbers; taxes and usage beyond what is included are excluded.

For one-line power dialing at three or more seats, Aircall's list price is lower than Trellus Power, and it includes business numbers, inbound routing and texting. Trellus costs more per seat and adds parallel dialing up to five lines, dialing from inside the CRM or sales engagement view, and single-seat purchases. Price the whole stack on both sides: seats and minimums, billing cycle, numbers, international calling, texting registration, AI add-ons and any phone system you would keep. If you keep Aircall for inbound and texting and add Trellus for dialing or coaching, you pay for both. See Trellus pricing.

Check the terms as well. Aircall's 7-day trial includes Essentials and Professional features and expires on its own, but caps calls at seven minutes each and 100 minutes in total, and does not allow number porting or 10DLC registration. Trellus has no free trial; you can click through its interactive demo. Trellus single-seat plans can pause or cancel in Billing, larger plans request changes through the Support Center, and when a plan is cancelled calling stops right away and numbers may be released.

Test before you commit

  1. Start where reps work. Use one rep and one real list. In Aircall, build the Power Dialer list from your CRM view by CSV, paste or the Chrome extension, or a campaign from a HubSpot static list; in Trellus, start from the CRM or sales engagement view itself.
  2. Dial the same list. Run it one line at a time in Aircall and with up to five lines in Trellus, on comparable lists with the same reps. Note the pause after a prospect answers, how voicemails are handled, and that Aircall marks the rep Busy for inbound calls during a session.
  3. Reopen the record. Confirm the outcome, notes, recording or transcript link, completed task and follow-up landed on the right contact, company and deal, with the right owner. In HubSpot, check how Aircall calls that reached voicemail are labeled.
  4. Test the rest of the phone job. Call back a number you dialed from, send a text if you need texting (10DLC vetting can take weeks), and check where inbound calls ring when a rep is away from the computer.
  5. If you keep Aircall, test both together. Place a real call in the Aircall app your reps use and confirm Trellus coaching appears during it.
  6. Price the full scope. Compare Aircall's published plan plus the add-ons and minimums you need with Trellus's published plan plus whatever phone and texting tools you would keep.

Frequently asked questions

How many lines can Aircall and Trellus dial at once?

Aircall's Power Dialer, on Professional, calls one number at a time in list order, and its agent campaigns also give each rep one contact at a time. Aircall's "parallel calling" means holding a live call while placing a second one. Trellus Power calls one number at a time, and Power + Parallel calls up to five numbers at once.

How much does Aircall cost?

Aircall publishes Essentials at $30 and Professional at $50 per license per month billed annually, or $40 and $70 billed monthly, with a three-license minimum; Enterprise is custom from 25 licenses. The Power Dialer needs Professional, and AI Assist Pro is $49 per user per month billed annually. Aircall offers a 7-day free trial. Trellus publishes Power at $99.99 and Power + Parallel at $149.99 per seat per month, with no seat minimum.

Does Aircall dial inside my CRM like Trellus?

Partly. Aircall's integrations add click-to-dial in tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Pipedrive and Attio and log calls back, but its Power Dialer works through a list of up to 1,000 numbers loaded into Aircall Workspace by CSV, paste or its Chrome extension. Trellus power and parallel dials from the list or calling view open in a supported CRM, sales engagement platform or Google Sheet.

Can I use Trellus with Aircall?

Yes, for coaching. Trellus Business adds live coaching to calls reps place in Aircall Phone at phone.aircall.io in Chrome. Trellus does not dial for Aircall or replace its Power Dialer; Aircall places and controls the call and keeps the history.

Can Aircall and Trellus handle inbound calls and texts?

Aircall lists IVR, call queuing, ring groups, routing, SMS and MMS and a shared inbox on every plan, with iOS and Android apps and WhatsApp as an add-on. Trellus rings callbacks in the Chrome tab running Trellus or at a forwarding number and can route a number to a team, a rep or an outside number, depending on plan; it does not list texting. Trellus voice agents can also answer inbound calls.

Do both coach reps during calls, and do both have AI voice agents?

Both let a manager listen and whisper on a live call: Aircall on Professional, Trellus on its Salesfloor. For live AI guidance, Aircall sells the AI Assist Pro add-on and Trellus includes real-time coaching on Business. Both offer AI voice agents that answer and place calls: Aircall's are priced per minute with 50 minutes a month included, and Trellus's are set up with the Trellus team.
