The short answer
Choose Trellus when reps should keep working the CRM list, task queue or Google Sheet they already use. Trellus is a Chrome extension that adds power dialing and up to five parallel lines beside supported CRM and sales engagement views, then saves the outcome to the source record.
Choose Nooks when you want reps to work in a separate outbound workspace that can bring dialing, sequencing, research and coaching together. Nooks also documents Adaptive and Turbo modes that change the number of active lines using pickup predictions.
Both offer power dialing, parallel dialing, live guidance, a virtual sales floor and AI roleplay. The decision is where reps work, how calls get back to your records and which tools you keep. If your current dialer already handles a low call volume, records and follow-ups well, you may not need either.

Follow one contact from the list to the saved call
Trellus keeps the source list and task context
In HubSpot, a rep starts from supported task, prospecting, contact or company views and opens Trellus beside them. Supported call activities can include timing, duration, disposition, summary and an available recording link, associated with the contact or company. Task workflows can complete the originating task and create a linked callback.
In Salesloft, a rep starts with call tasks or People and keeps the Person and cadence context. Outreach uses Prospect and call-task context, Attio uses People and Tasks, and Google Sheets uses mapped rows and result columns. Check the exact integration before assuming every field works identically.
Nooks: check which source supplied the prospect
Nooks supports connected CRM and sales engagement workflows. Its HubSpot activity guide, written for workspaces with Nooks Sequencing enabled, describes call activities linked to the prospect's Contact and associated Company.
CSV calling follows a different path. The Nooks CSV guide says those contacts and calls stay in Nooks rather than logging to a connected CRM, and recommends loading contacts into the CRM or sales engagement platform first.
In either demo, reopen the original record after a call. Find the outcome, notes, owner, task completion and callback using your team's actual permissions.
Compare call control, not just the line count
Trellus: choose the mode, queue and outbound number
Trellus supports one-at-a-time power dialing and up to five parallel lines on eligible plans. When a person answers, the other active lines stop. A saved voicemail can be left when voicemail is detected, and a saved screener introduction can respond to supported phone screeners during parallel dialing.
- Who to call: Hot Numbers can order an eligible queue by estimated pickup likelihood.
- Which number to call from: Smart caller ID chooses from your outbound numbers, with rotation and number-health tools for the pool.
An estimated pickup score is not a measured connect rate. See the Trellus dialer for the full calling flow.
Nooks: fixed, Adaptive and Turbo dialing
The Nooks dialing-mode guide distinguishes one-line power dialing, fixed parallel dialing at two to five lines, and Adaptive or Turbo dialing that adjusts active lines using pickup predictions. Adaptive and Turbo require a Parallel Dialing seat, a standard Nooks number and workspace Data Sharing.
Its parallel-dialing guide says that when one call connects, the other lines hang up; those cancelled calls are not logged or counted as dials and stay in the list.
Ask both vendors to show two close-together answers, a detected voicemail and a stopped call block, then reconcile those outcomes with the report before comparing activity totals.
Coaching, practice and the team call block
Trellus
Real-time AI coaching suggests responses during the conversation on the Business plan. AI practice calls let reps rehearse objections first, and the virtual Salesfloor gives a team a shared room where managers can listen to live calls.
Nooks
The Nooks AI Coaching product includes live battlecards, AI call scoring and tailored roleplays. Its AI Dialer page also describes a Virtual Salesfloor with live shadowing and manager whisper coaching.
In a pilot, give each product the same objection and coaching focus. Check whether the live suggestion is relevant and whether a manager can find the call afterward.
Use call data beyond the dialer
Trellus publishes its Call Data API and MCP documentation. An authorized AI assistant can use four read-only tools to find calls, request metrics and read a selected session, within the user's existing permissions.
Nooks publishes a Claude MCP connector guide. It requires a Nooks Sequencing or AI Coaching seat and documents call lookup plus actions such as managing sequences, tasks and emails. Compare which calls each connector covers and who can access them.
Compare the cost of the same package
Trellus pricing is published: Power is $99.99 and Power + Parallel is $149.99 per seat per month, with custom Business pricing for real-time coaching and team analytics. You can buy one seat online.
Nooks requests a custom quote. Its page presents Dialer, Sequencing, Signals and Intelligence, Coaching and data enrichment, so a fixed price or contract term can't be read from it.
Request the same scope from both: seats, calling regions and minutes, outbound numbers, recording retention, integrations, coaching and contract term. If Nooks would replace another tool, include that. There is no useful savings percentage until the packages match.
Run a pilot your team can inspect
- Human conversations. Count people reached, with voicemail and screeners counted separately. Keep power and parallel results apart.
- Calling effort. Record elapsed call-block time, attempts and stopped or cancelled attempts. Agree on the denominator before calling one product faster.
- Meeting outcomes. Count booked meetings and qualified next steps, separate from verbal interest.
- Record quality. Check the contact, notes, disposition, task completion and callback on the source record.
- Rep and manager work. Note setup, summary correction, follow-up and coaching time.
