The short answer

Choose Trellus when reps should power or parallel dial beside the CRM list, task or Google Sheet they already work. Trellus is a Chrome extension; the outcome, notes and callback go back to the source record, and you can start with one seat.

Choose Orum when a manager wants reps to run calling sessions together in a dedicated workspace with shared lists, prospect reservations, its own Salesfloor and coaching tools, and the team meets Orum's nine-seat minimum.

Both power dial, parallel dial up to five lines and offer practice and a shared sales floor. The useful comparison is where the list starts, what the rep sees during a call and what gets saved afterward. If reps make a few researched calls and already save outcomes reliably, your current CRM dialer may be enough.

Start with the list, not the line count

A dialer has to keep the right number, prospect context and follow-up attached to the conversation. Take a HubSpot rep working due call tasks who reaches someone asking for a Tuesday callback. Afterward the rep needs a saved outcome, notes on the contact and a new callback task. Completing the first task without the callback is an incomplete workflow, however quickly the call connected.

Parallel dialing makes several attempts at once and suits a prepared outbound list; a scheduled callback may be better handled one number at a time. Neither mode guarantees a live conversation.

Where each product fits

Trellus: calling beside the CRM list

Trellus opens beside supported views, so reps work the source list while they call. What gets saved depends on the platform:

  • HubSpot: call activity with disposition, summary and timing; task workflows complete the task and create a callback.
  • Attio: outcomes and summaries in person fields or notes, with person-linked callbacks.
  • GoHighLevel: a contact note with the outcome and a contact-linked callback from a Smart List.
  • Google Sheets: results and callback state in designated columns on the same row.

Hot Numbers can order an eligible queue by estimated pickup likelihood, and Smart caller ID picks the outbound number. See the Trellus dialer for the calling flow.

Orum: a shared calling workspace

Orum's integration directory includes Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo and Gong. Supported source lists and saved activities vary by integration.

A concrete Orum strength is several reps sharing a Salesforce report or HubSpot segment. Multiplayer dialing reserves attempted prospects for an administrator-set period; the CSV integration is excluded. Its coaching material describes live use, while its pricing page marks live battlecards as coming soon, so ask for a demo of the exact in-call prompts in your package.

Compare the cost of the same scope

Trellus pricing is published per seat with no minimum: Power is $99.99 and Power + Parallel is $149.99 per seat per month, and Business is custom.

Orum asks you to request pricing, states a nine-seat minimum and lists AI Coaching and Webhooks as add-ons. Price the same scope from both: full-time and occasional callers, coaching, numbers, destinations, usage and contract term. A headline seat price alone does not establish the lower total cost.

Run this test before you commit

  1. Start from the source. Use one prepared list and one due callback task. Confirm which records and phone fields enter the queue, and who owns them.
  2. Make the call. Try power and parallel modes. Check the contact context, voicemail and screener handling, and what happens if two people answer.
  3. Complete the conversation. Choose an outcome, review the notes and request a Tuesday callback. Reopen the contact and task to confirm the saved result.
  4. Check a call that did not connect. Distinguish no answer, voicemail, busy, failure and a cancelled parallel attempt. Orum's task guide says HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft and Gong Engage tasks are not completed for busy, failed, cancelled or unhandled outcomes; test Trellus's behavior for your integration too.
  5. Reconcile the report. Compare attempts, conversations with the intended prospect, saved outcomes and callbacks. Count an agreed meeting separately from a call disposition.
